Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We spent it at my sister’s house this year, and it was fun, and soul filling, and crazy (12 cousins under 11 under one roof!), and completely wonderful.

I’m so sorry that I was MIA for a bit.  Mira was teething, the girls were sick in on again off again intervals, and between sports, meetings, deadlines, and the usual life stuff, I just didn’t have the time or energy for blogging!

But sweet baby girl’s little tooth has finally come through, the kids are on the mend, and I’ve thankfully had a couple of good nights of sleep this week.  Yay, for small victories. [Read more…]

It’s hard to believe my oldest ‘little’ turned 10 a couple of weeks ago.

It’s even harder to believe that I can’t really call her little anymore. No, she’s definitely on the cusp of her teen years, and her birthday has, once again, pulled on my sentimental side. In a few years time, she is going to want spa parties, slumber parties with a List of questions for truth and dare, and goodness knows what else so it’s nice that this year to be nice and simple.

I’ve found myself looking into the face of my nine month old these last few weeks, and seeing Jenna (my oldest) as a baby. Remembering all of her firsts, contemplating how much she’s changed – how day by day, she’s starting to need us a little less. [Read more…]

Hi there! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by today. If this is your first time visiting my little corner of the internet, welcome! I’m Laura, a mom to four sweet girls (ranging in age from 10 to 9 months), wife to an incredibly supportive and talented guy, who’s the muscle behind all of my crazy ideas, and an interior designer living in the Boston burbs.

I’m excited to be joining such an amazing group of ladies for the Beauty in Simplicity Fall Home Series this year, hosted by Rachel from Rachel Elizabeth Creates and Jackie from Finding Lovely!

This summer we started to makeover our front porches and our entryway, and I was SO hoping to have everything wrapped up at this point so I could share them both decorated for fall, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen. Maybe after it is done we could consider building a conservatory with energy-efficient roofs similar to Leka Roofs! But anyway our front door came wrapped, and because it was a custom order, the new one is taking forever to arrive, and it’s really set the project back. However, we’re sure it will be worth it. Having a nice front door can really make the house look a lot nicer, and it can also boost the value of the home. It was actually one of my friends who gave us the inspiration to get a new front door after she recently got hers replaced. She said that I just needed to search the internet to find a company offering entry doors near me and then I would be able to look at all of the different designs to find one that looked nice for our home. We’ve now chosen our new front door, and we’re just waiting for it to arrive!

I’m going to take some photos of the progress in the next few days though, and I hope you’ll come on back next week to see where we’re at!

I do have our living room and kitchen decorated and ready to share, and I hope you find some fall decorating inspiration to take back to your own home along the way today. The living room looks great now and I’m even considering getting a Music system for home just to add that extra touch (plus we love home audio!)

This year, I was kind of in the mood for a simpler approach to fall decorating. I wanted to move house at one point, I even went onto https://www.supercheapsigns.com to buy a real estate sign! But we decided against it in the end.

In the living room, I restyled our bookshelves and brought in lots of wood tones and neutrals for warmth…

I wanted to keep the same pillows and drapes that I had going on this summer, and, as you can see, it wasn’t your typical fall palette.

But I made it work for fall by adding lots and lots of neutrals, and cozier textures to our built ins. [Read more…]

Hey there!  I hope you’ve all been doing well, and are enjoying the early fall weather, wherever you are!  September in Massachusetts is such a perfect time – not too warm or too cold,  and blue skies, green grass and sunshine abound.  It’s a magical, fleeting month, sandwiched between a typically hot and humid August, and the brisk colorful days of October.  This year it’s been warmer than usual, but I’m not complaining.  The winters are typically long and cold here, so I’ll take all of the sunshine and 75 degree days that I can get.

I’ve had this post half written for a couple of weeks now, but life’s been so busy with back to school and  sports, and getting back into the swing of things.

A couple of weeks ago, I was at Trader Joe’s and saw pretty, single potted orchids for $7.99!

Hi Guys!

Oh my, do I have an exciting post to share with you all today. I went and toured Coastal Living’s 2017 Idea House in Newport, Rhode Island this morning!

Well, technically speaking, the idea house is actually in Middletown, but it’s a stone’s throw from the Newport line.

Fun fact – Michael and I actually got married in Middletown on a beach right down the road from the Coastal Living house. My parents also have a cottage on the Portsmouth Camp Meeting grounds, so my family spends time on the island every summer. It’s familiar stomping ground for me and it’s truly one of my most favorite places in the world. [Read more…]

Hey Everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July!  We went to two fireworks displays this year, and I think the girls and I are still feeling the effects of the much-later-than-usual bedtimes.  We normally let the girls head to bed a little later every once in awhile in the summer, but it’s been happening too often lately, and they’ve been out of sorts the last few days.  Normal-ish routine commences tomorrow though, because this momma can’t handle any more mid afternoon tantrums or whining at dinner time {insert horrified face holding cheeks emoji here}.

Hey there, Everyone! I hope your summer’s off to a great start! We’ve certainly been keeping ourselves busy over here. The girls have been running around, free and wild, I must say, and they’ve been enjoying every second of these school-less, sunshine filled days.

In the last month, we’ve caught fireflies, gone to the drive in, had a mermaid birthday party for Ayla, an art themed birthday party for Aubrey, and started a project in our entryway.

This mama’s cleaned up more sticky messes from the girls’ lemonade making endeavors than I’d like to recall, and Jenna and Aubrey have only been out of school a week!

Hey Guys! I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend, and that the week’s been treating you well. The last few weeks – who am I kidding – the last few MONTHS, just flew by, and I honestly don’t know where the time’s been going.
