Over the course of the last few weeks we’ve all been sharing lots of spring inspired posts; Recipes, wreath tutorials, mantel decorating ideas and more!

Life has been pretty full lately, so I tried to keep my spring changes to a minimum this year. But it really is amazing what a few simple swap outs can do to give your home a whole new feel. Let’s jump in! I’m really happy with how the house looks at the minute but I was considering moving into the new Piermont Grand EC property. The apartments look beautiful but we decided to stay put for now. Who knows what the future will bring though!

As we’ve made the decision to stay where we are, I have made it my mission to make this house a home. Sometimes, the interior design of your house can make all of the difference when it comes to settling into your new space. So I’ve been doing a lot of furniture shopping. I’m also thinking about getting a new mattress from somewhere like Simba Sleep but I haven’t bought one yet. I’ve spent quite a lot of money redecorating the home so I better save some pennies before I splurge again! From the furniture to the appliances, everything has a part to play in the vibe that you want your home to have. Everything needs to be perfect! Even implementing something like these Verisure Smart Alarms and adding extra security features to your home can help to give you peace of mind in knowing that you and your family are safe. I’d have to say that I think this is an important change that you must make to your home, as the last thing that you want to deal with is having to replace everything that you worked so hard to get. But we’re living in the here and now, and who knows, maybe this property will become our forever home?

Hi there, Friends! Anyone else love planning party menus? It’s something I actually really enjoy and can totally geek out over. I’ve been thinking up what we’re going to make for Easter this year. We usually have these popovers to accompany whatever else we make, and they’re super yummy! To be honest though, they’re perfect any time – slathered with jam and butter at breakfast, or smeared with Nutella with your afternoon coffee.

They look impressive as they rise up and ‘pop over’ the pan in the oven, but they’re so simple to make. [Read more…]

We’re ready for spring around here.  We changed the clocks this weekend, the sun was still shining at 6 PM, maple syrup has been made, tulips are officially in the house.

Oh yes, we are ready.

Except it’s supposed to snow again on Tuesday.  And by the sound of it, it may be a school cancellation kind of snow.  Mother Nature definitely hasn’t gotten the memo that it’s spring time in the blogosphere.

Hi Friends! The weather in Massachusetts has been quite characteristically Massachusetts-like for the last few weeks.  Snowstorms, followed by a few 60 some-odd, degree days, followed by a big, bad nor’easter that broke one of our front gates (boo, Riley!), followed by sunshine on Sunday, and then snow again Sunday night!

The weather in New England is predictably unpredictable from February to April.  There may be a snow storm or two yet to come, so I’m definitely not about to store away the boots and winter coats, but I am 100% on board with welcoming Spring inside the house. [Read more…]

When I was ten, maybe eleven, I used to deliver newspapers on my street. I’m not sure how I ended up with that gig, and I’m pretty sure I was the absolute worst newspaper delivery girl on the planet because I used to make my rounds after school at 3:30 or 4. Not exactly when most people wanted to have their papers delivered, I’m assuming.

Hi Friends!  If you hang out with me over on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed that I’ve been making some changes to our living room recently.  I actually changed things up a few weeks ago, but it’s taken me awhile to bust out the camera and finally take some photos to share with you guys.

The time between Christmas and Spring can feel awkward to a lot of people from a decorating perspective.  Is it time for tulips and daffodils and little birds’ nests perched on stacks of books, or should we still be using evergreen?

I always say, do whatever makes you happy, honestly.  Home is the most important place on earth, our respite from the outside world, the place we seek shelter both physically and spiritually.  So being surrounded by what makes you feel most like you, is paramount.

But in my next few blog posts, I’m going to be sharing a few things that I do at this time of year as a sort of after Christmas refresh, while also keeping the house feeling cozy, so check back this week and next for a few ideas!

Hi Guys!  Happy New Year!  I can’t believe I haven’t been on here updating you all on anything since Christmas.

Sorry!  It’s been a whirlwind month.  I literally have 3 posts started, and unfinished, floating around wherever unpublished blog posts float around in cyberspace, you guys.  It’s felt utterly impossible to complete a single task this month.  That sounds dramatic, but it’s true.

Mira turned one on the 9th and we were planning to have a little party for her, but a couple of nights before, Aubrey started with a stomach bug.  And being the kind people that we are, we weren’t about to squeeze in a birthday party while our other littles could be incubating it too.

Fortunately, it wasn’t a terrible one and Michael and I managed to avoid it.  We both felt a little off for a day, but no puking (hallelujah for oil of oregano).  So, we cancelled the party, took the next week to catch up on [Read more…]

Hi, Everyone!

I’m popping in to share our living room dressed up and ready for Christmas with you today. I shared our kitchen last week, and you can find it here if you missed it!

This year, King of Christmas sent me this beautiful tree. We’ve actually always had a real tree in the past, but in the blogging world, seasonal ideas need to be up, photographed and shared a month before everyone else starts decorating, so a real tree would never make it until Christmas.

I chose the 7 foot Cyprus Spruce, and I’m so impressed with how real it looks!

But anyway, before we really jump in to this tour, let me introduce myself just in case any of you are new to the blog.

Oh my goodness, how is it already the end of November?  I feel like life’s been moving in fast forward lately, but that’s ok because I am so excited that the holidays are here! #bringonthetwinklelights

Did you see my kitchen all dressed up for Christmas yesterday? You can see it here if you missed it.

I’m mostly done decorating for Christmas now, aside from our front porches, and the house is feeling super cozy. Mira’s been teething for weeks and all of the girls are getting over an awful cold, so there’s been lots of tears and whining and snuggling for the last few weeks.  So decorating for Christmas and watching cheesy Hallmark flicks after bedtime has essentially been my mommy therapy.

Who else is into the Christmas movies right now?  I must confess, I’m loving the heck out of them!

So, I went in a totally different direction than last year in terms of color scheme/Christmas theme and I can’t wait to share our living room with you guys!  More on that in the next couple of days though.

I loved last years’ decor, but I wanted to pull out some of my more neutral ornaments and go for an even cozier look this year.  If you missed last year’s tour, you can see it here.
