I’m sitting here typing this post in my fleece jacket, you guys, so I guess Christmas really must be right around the corner? I’m freezing!  Don’t worry though, the rest of our house is warm and toasty, but my office is tucked away in the front of the house, with drafty windows galore, and far from the wood stove.  So cozy socks, tea, and a warm fleece is in order whenever I’m writing late night blog posts in the winter.

The holidays really snuck up on me this year, and I’m feeling so behind!  But I’m excited to be joining Krista at The Happy Housie along with loads of other incredibly talented ladies to share some pretty Christmas mantel inspiration with you today.

Hi Guys! How are you? Can you believe it’s already November? I’m not sure how that happened, and I may have had a mild heart attack when I realized, last week, that my first Christmas post was due to go up today! I’ve been pretty quiet the last few weeks because it’s been SO busy around here, and I’ve been working on a few big work projects that I’m super excited to share with you guys soon!

Today marks the first day of The Seasonal Simplicity Series that Krista over at The Happy Housie puts on at the start of each new season. I’m always so excited to take part, because the talent and ideas that everyone brings each week is pure inspiration! If you’re from the US, you may be thinking, Christmas?! Seriously, Lady, Thanksgiving’s still 2 weeks away. And I get it. That’s where everyone’s brain is at right now – mine is too! But we bloggers need to share our holiday ideas way before everyone else starts decorating, otherwise, what would the point be? Nobody’s decorating for Christmas the week of Christmas, right?

And no word of a lie, we have had the most relaxed and magical Christmases since I started decorating early. The unpacking-and-repacking-Christmas-box-craziness all happens in mid November, and the next six weeks are all about hot cocoa, and candles, and twinkly lights, and just enjoying the season. That’s been a completely unexpected perk, and I’m not ever going back to decorating after Thanksgiving, let me tell ya!

But anyway, it’s getting late, and I want to share this really simple tutorial with you. It’s actually a Christmas bell garland that I made a few years ago now, so technically, I’m re-sharing it, but it’s still one of my favorite Christmas DIYs of all time.

I usually drape it across my hutch at Christmas, and I’m pretty sure that’s what I’ll be doing again this year! Isn’t it cute? Hopefully it has inspired a few Christmas Decoration Ideas of your own!

Who’s into gnocchi?  I don’t know why, but gnocchi feels like Fall to me.  There’s something about those puffy, potato pillows tossed in a creamy sauce that says, let’s put on cozy socks and have a picnic by the wood stove, cradling warm, steamy bowls of this goodness right here.

Hi again, Guys! I know, a blog post two days in row. This is a record for me! I shared a fall living room reveal for a wonderful client of mine yesterday, and today, it’s my turn to share our home, all cozy and decorated for the cool weather that’s just around the corner.

I’m Laura, and I live with my husband and four daughters ranging in age from (almost) 11 to 20 months, in an old farmhouse that we’re continuously renovating. As you can see, we’ve recently had the siding replaced. We’re really happy with the color we chose, it matches the front door really well. In order to get it installed in this color, we contacted those at https://www.sidingatlanta.com/ to see if they could come and improve the curb appeal. Now that’s sorted, the exterior is pretty much done. Luckily, I’m an interior designer and I believe that we should all love the place we call home, no matter how grand or humble our means maybe.

Is Fall in full swing where you are?  Pumpkins are popping up everywhere now, I’ve already had to bust out the echinacea tea, and our chestnut tree out front is dropping its leaves as I type, so fall’s official in my book!

It’s been a busy week around here… I won’t get in to everything that’s been happening because that would take way too long to get into, and I don’t have a lot of time today.  All good things though!

You may remember my Franklin Project Reveal from a few weeks back..  If not, you can find the post here.  I was able to help the sweetest family transform a few different spaces on their first floor, and the before and after was pretty dramatic.  When we wrapped up in July, my client asked if we could schedule a Fall refresh for this month.  She didn’t want to do a total overhaul; she was just hoping to add a few accessories to warm things up for the cooler months ahead.  So today, I popped in and did just that!  I wish I could have taken a few more photos, but I had to head out for a meeting.. I’m glad that I was able to snap a few though.  Here they are!

I’m back again with more fall inspiration this week!

Happy Fall, Guys!

Well, not quite, I suppose, but a few more weeks and Fall will be official.  The nights here in Massachusetts are getting cooler, the boughs of our apple trees are heavy under the weight of lots of growing apples, and here I am, writing my very first post of the season!

I’m not rushing summer.

I love summer – she can stay as long as she wants.

But there’s something hopeful about a new season waiting patiently, just over the horizon.  The start of a few new things, the saying goodbye to some of the old.

I’ve been busily working on adding Fall touches around here the last few days – mainly at night, once the girls are in bed.  Jenna’s really been into helping me decorate lately, so I let her come back down after the other ones fell asleep, and sip on tea and help out, a couple of times this weekend.  I can’t believe how much she’s matured this year!  I’m secretly hoping that one day she’ll want to be my design assistant, so I might as well start the training early, haha.

I’ll be sharing the changes inside the house with you all next week and I can’t wait for that.

But today, I’m super excited to be welcoming Autumn, outside, with lots of other amazing blogging friends!  We’re all sharing pretty fall wreath ideas as part of Krista at The Happy Housie’s Seasonal Simplicity Series, and trust me, you guys, you will not be disappointed.  The creativity and beauty is incredible!

Last year, my fall decor was pretty colorful, and I really loved it.  I was feeling the plums/pinks in varying shades of intensity, and navy and green everything at the time, but this year I’m going in a bit of a different direction; which you’ll get to see come together next week!

My jumping off point for my fall decor this year is this pretty palette of peaches and purples!  I know, not exactly a traditional palette for fall, but it’ll all make sense soon, I promise hope.  Ha!

Whenever I’m decorating seasonally, I like to decide on what colors feel best to me at the moment.  Sometimes nothing but the accents change in a space, and at other times, I swap out pillow covers for a quick color refresh –  and then I work in a few seasonal accents here and there.

Hey Everyone!

Happy August!  I hope you’ve all been enjoying your summer.

I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful couple over the last few weeks.  They moved into their new home recently, and were looking to update the existing paint colors and pull the downstairs together with artwork, textiles, a few new furniture pieces, and fresh accessories.

So I got to work pulling a design plan together for them, and I’m so excited to be sharing the results with all of you! From start to finish, this project took about 6 weeks, and it was worth the wait!

The painting happened over the course of a few days last week, and that alone brightened things tremendously. My team and I got to work early Wednesday morning with the installation, and I revealed the space to my clients after work that same day.

I love when I’m able to install and style a project in a day because the client reveal is so much more dramatic when they haven’t really seen any of the bits and pieces coming together along the way!  It just makes it that much more suprising.  I find that even though clients approve nearly everything in advance, and have seen the plans and the moodboards, there’s nothing that compares to a real life reveal day.  Seeing each piece together for the first time is SUCH a surprise for them.  My client literally cried happy tears as we walked through each room, and I think I may have been just as thrilled with these transformations as she was.

The family’s wishlist included a family room overhaul, making the entryway more functional and inviting, pulling together the dining area with artwork and accessories, and freshening up the playroom with whimsical details and a bit more storage for their daughter.
