#BareToBeautifulProject
Hi there, Friends! You know those spaces in your home that just feel bare? The ones that you’ve put on the back burner. Maybe because it’s just not an essential room to decorate, or maybe because there’s just too much other ‘stuff’ going on to make it a priority? We’ve all been there. Hey, I think if we’re honest, we all have spaces just like that! The ones we close the door to, and pretend aren’t there.
Well, I’m popping in today with some exciting news! I’m partnering with Jen Migonis of Migonis Home for a new series that we’re really excited about.
We’ve decided to each tackle an unloved room in our homes that we’ll be transforming over the next few weeks.
We’re going to reveal these “Bare to Beautiful” rooms on July 1st, and we’ll be posting updates of our progress along the way! I’m so excited about this because it’s going to push us to really, truly, complete another space in our house. AND we’re going to get a chance to see a transformation of yours, if you want to do this along with us!
Jen and I thought we’d announce this now, because we want all of you to have time to brainstorm a project and get ready for this fun series too.
You can tackle a whole space, or you can keep the project simpler by transforming any corner, wall, bookshelf, or smaller space of your choice. You can even use whatever materials you like, from DIY peel and stick wallpaper to custom cabinets and even granite kitchen counter tops. The choice is yours!
The object is to take any spot in your home that feels bare to you, and make it beautiful!
Here are a couple of spaces that I’ve taken from bare to beautiful recently…
This first one was a dining room that my clients inherited with the purchase of their home, and they wanted it transformed into a play space for their toddler.
Here’s the before…
And here’s the after!
You can see all of the photos from this transformation {here}.
Here’s a little corner of our kitchen that I transformed last fall…

After!
You can see the rest of this transformation, and my chalkboard door tutorial {here}.
And here’s a small, kitchen transformation that I did recently for a client. I love this project, because it’s the perfect example of what a bit of paint, a simple light fixture swap, and some pretty styling can do to transform a space. Sometimes swapping a light can be a little tricky but with the help of an experince electrician it should run smoothly. Thankfully, there are sites like https://barnettelectrical.com/service-areas/nichols-hills-electricians/ which can help find the right electrician for the job.

I’ve never posted photos of this project before, so here are a couple of extras!

Whoa, I’ve wanted to paint my cabinets white for awhile. I can’t believe the difference it makes. What a huge change! It seems like a totally differnt room! Well done.

That’s so sweet; Thank you, Jillian! It’s amazing what a little paint can do, isn’t it? I would absolutely do it! It’ll make your space feel lighter, brighter, and best of all, bigger!
