Hi there! How’s everything? We’ve been having some fabulous fall weather here in Massachusetts and the kids, my husband and I have been trying to soak up as much fall sunshine as we can. We bought a little bike seat for our youngest (I don’t know why we didn’t do that sooner?!) And we’re finally able to all bike together as a family. Goodness, with the leaves starting to change and these 70 degree late afternoons we’ve been having, it’s been so uplifting. The kids are actually really quiet while we’re biking, just taking in the scenery on these gorgeous bike paths, so it actually ends up being the perfect little mental break for Michael and me too.
But anyway, on the design side of things, I’ve been having so much fun planning this adorable play space for the cutest little munchkin. She is just a bundle of light and love and so full of energy. The homeowners and I wanted to create a space that would hold lots of stuff but wouldn’t be floor to ceiling shelving. A. Because she’d probably climb them and B. Because that could get really expensive!
I decided to go with a half wall of cubbies with plenty of baskets for storage, and drawers to house her larger toys and stuffed animals. See those birch branches in the corner? I have a fun little idea that we’re going to be working those into, and I can’t wait for it to be done so I can share it here! The space is going to bright and cheerful, but with some seriously natural and grounding elements worked in so that it doesn’t end up looking like a full blown circus, which can happen quite easily in a playroom. Not this one! This is going to be a sweet, playful space that’s even going to have an organized little work station for mom, so she can check her emails or do a little pinteresting while her cutie has a blast. Stay tuned to see how it turns out! I’m hoping to have some photos up soon 🙂
