Hi Everyone! Well, fall has officially arrived here in Massachusetts, and the foliage is so incredible this year! I honestly don’t remember the last time it looked this magical. I have so many wonderful memories of fall in New England from when I was young. Apple picking, the sound of leaves crunching underfoot, blue skies against vibrant oranges and reds, perfectly cool days followed by crisp nights. I could seriously go on all day about what makes this season so special to me, but it’d be a blog post all its own, I swear!
So I’ll save gushing about apple cider and baking for another day, and share this simple and oh-so-cozy fall table, that literally anyone can recreate, with you instead. Best of all, it’s quick and super inexpensive to put together.
When I was shopping last week at Homegoods, I saw these pretty, blue water goblets on the clearance rack for $1.99 a piece! I always try to use what I already have whenever I’m setting a table for the blog, but these glasses were so pretty and at such a good price, they had to come home. And I’d call a table like this for under $20 quite a deal, wouldn’t you?
I knew that I wanted to set a table under our apple trees this year. So my hubby and I carried our table and chairs outside (the table is from IKEA, and it’s not very heavy, although it looks it), and my sister let me borrow this beautiful bench that her husband built a few years ago using these plans. Isn’t it GORGEOUS?! I just love how it turned out.
The plans were from Ana White, and she’s super talented and super inspiring. If you’ve never been to her blog, you should check it out. She has building plans for all kinds of beautiful furniture, all mapped out for you in laymen’s terms.
Keeping this table cost to a minimum was very important to me. I layered a table runner that I already had, over one of my blanket scarves for a super cozy look.
Using a blanket scarf as a table cloth at this time of year, lends the perfect, casual fall vibe to your table. It’s something most of us already have and it makes such a statement!
Add in some pretty, vibrant, colored branches to complete the look. These ones came from one of our maple trees so they didn’t cost a dime. Yay!
The girls were completely ecstatic to have dinner at this table. It most definitely is not the type of ambience they’re used to for a weekend dinner, but it was one that they’ll remember for sure!
The perfect setting for steamy bowls of soup and hunks of crusty bread. I made one of the girls’ favorite fall/winter soups, and I’ll be sharing the recipe with you all in the next few days!
It’s full of veggies and smoked chicken sausage…
And I’d love it if you’d stop on by for the recipe! It’s a definite crowd pleaser.
Well, Friends, I hope you’re feeling inspired to set a special fall table at your next dinner party. This one took less than 25 minutes, start to finish!
Set a cozy table like this, right beside your fire pit, and your guests will be feeling the love of friendship, and the warmth of good food in their bellies.
Have a great week, Friends, and Happy Fall!

How lovely! I have quite a few blanket scarves and I’m thinking about trying something like this out this weekend when my sister and her fiancee are here for the weekend. She loves decorating too, and will love this idea!!!!
