I’m sitting here typing this post in my fleece jacket, you guys, so I guess Christmas really must be right around the corner? I’m freezing! Don’t worry though, the rest of our house is warm and toasty, but my office is tucked away in the front of the house, with drafty windows galore, and far from the wood stove. So cozy socks, tea, and a warm fleece is in order whenever I’m writing late night blog posts in the winter.
The holidays really snuck up on me this year, and I’m feeling so behind! But I’m excited to be joining Krista at The Happy Housie along with loads of other incredibly talented ladies to share some pretty Christmas mantel inspiration with you today.
I’ve been getting all of my Christmas stuff done later, this year, than I usually do, because I’m in the finishing stages of 3 projects right now.
*Note to self*
Don’t wrap up design projects just before the holidays ever again!
There have been too many late nights to count this month.
It hasn’t been all that bad, but life has certainly been busy. But the craziness will all be worth it in the end and I can’t wait to see everything start coming together.
The girls are always so excited to see the Christmas boxes come upstairs every year.
And I love to hear them oohing and ahhing over their favorite ornaments. They’re the best little design assistants that I could ask for too.
Adding the sweet, little jewel garland to the mirror and mantel was all Jenna!
And I love the bit of sparkle that it adds.
I snatched up these Christmas trees a few weeks ago at Target. They were just starting to unload the Christmas decorations and I literally took all of the ones the poor sales associate had taken out! But for 3 and 5 bucks a piece, I couldn’t resist.
I added a few different pom pom garlands that I had, and then I draped them the way I did using removable, 3M hooks.
I mixed them in with some evergreen, and garland, and wooden houses that I’ve used the last few years, and I’m really happy with how it all came together!
Yay for cozy candles and twinkling lights in the house again.
Now, if only my kitchen weren’t loaded with 17 Christmas boxes.
…Which I’ll be clearing out tomorrow because, it’s almost time for pie making and turkey roasting. Someone send help, lol!
Just kidding, you guys. It’s always worth it in the end, isn’t it? That’s what I tell myself whenever things get crazy, and it usually proves to be true.
So to all of you mamas feeling overwhelmed by the pending holidays – Hang in there. The smiles on those kiddos faces is going to make all of the crazy worth it, and bit by bit, it’ll all get done.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy Thanksgiving on Thursday, filled with good food, friends, and family!
