A Powder Room with Main Character Energy

Powder rooms have a funny way of being overlooked — small, usually tucked off a hallway, and almost never the first place you’d expect to find a design moment. But to me, powder rooms are pure opportunity. A hidden jewel box where you can lean all the way into detail, tone, and personality — which is exactly what we did here.

I wanted this one to have main character energy — just the quieter kind. The type that doesn’t need to be loud to be memorable.

A Wallpaper That Knows How to Hold a Room

The starting point was a vintage-inspired powder blue William Morris wallpaper — soft, detailed, and full of charm without being overly precious. It brings a sense of calm and familiarity, like something remembered but not too clearly. You won’t find loud pattern or trend-chasing here — just something that quietly makes everything around it better.

Layers of Driftwood, Sand, and Stone

To anchor the space, we pulled in driftwood and sandy tones — a nod to the coast, but in that lived-in, weathered way that feels grounded and natural. The marble mosaic flooring adds a little moment underfoot: detailed, timeless, and always cool to the touch. Every material in here was chosen for its texture as much as its tone.

Brass Fixtures & Café Curtains

The brass fixtures bring in that layer of warmth — not overly polished, but just enough sheen to catch the afternoon light. They feel like they’ve always belonged here, which is always the goal.

And the café curtains? An unexpected favorite. They soften the space without hiding it. There’s something about a linen curtain swaying ever so slightly by the window that makes even a quick hand-wash feel a little more intentional.

A Small Room with Big Energy

It’s always the smallest rooms that surprise you. This one turned out to be the quiet show-stealer — layered, a little coastal, a little classic, and exactly the kind of space that makes guests linger just a bit longer than necessary.

And I’m completely obsessed.
