A Dark and Moody Study Reveal

Hello again! Two posts in two days—almost unheard of around here—but I couldn’t wait any longer to share this special space with you.

This cozy study is part of a larger reveal (if you missed the first post, you can catch up [here]—it gives a bit more context on the project and the beautiful family behind the home). We first began dreaming up ideas together back in May of 2022, when my clients had just purchased this charming antique house. Their aesthetic is fearless yet grounded—layered, soulful, and full of warmth—and I’ve loved every minute of bringing it to life with them.

While this space isn’t quite finished (a few final elements are still on their way), I wanted to give you a little glimpse into the heart of this room before the full reveal next month. I’ll be back to photograph it more completely then, and I’ll share additional rooms and sources at that time as well.

What these photos don’t quite capture is the incredible sense of stillness and depth this space holds. It’s a room that feels rooted. Timeless. Like it’s always been there, waiting for someone to settle in with a good book and a glass of something warm.

I also believe scent plays a subtle but powerful role in how a space feels, and for this room, I found the most beautiful essential oil blend—moody, earthy, and quietly masculine. I’ll be sure to snap a photo of it to share next time, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a peek. There’s so much more to come, and I can’t wait to share the rest of this home with you next month.
